Popular as Wedding Gifts

The popularity of stackable rings and pink gold is extending to this spring’s wedding gifts.

According to the 2014 S/S (Spring/Summer) wedding jewelry trends announced by the Korean jewelry brand ‘Golden Dew’, feminine pink gold stackable ring designs are becoming mainstream in wedding gifts, riding the wave of the stackable ring trend.

“Pink gold stackable rings, when worn with a white gold main ring, create voluminous and sophisticated wedding jewelry,” explained a Golden Dew representative. “They can also be used as fashion jewelry for adding a point of interest by wearing just one piece casually.”

Pink gold products, previously worn mainly as fashion items, are emerging as a representative color in wedding trends, leading to changes in couple ring compositions as well. Analysis suggests that white gold men’s rings and pink gold women’s rings are beginning to establish themselves as the representative color match for couple rings.

The diamond ring, the foundation of wedding gifts, is expected to attract attention with designs that incorporate classic yet delicate elements. These designs appear like basic rings from the front but add sophistication to existing designs by introducing subtle changes to the side settings or band.

“Wedding gift trends don’t change drastically every year, but the fact that the pink gold color, which has been in the spotlight in fashion jewelry recently, is also gaining attention in wedding gifts is one of the significant changes,” advised a Golden Dew official. “However, since wedding gifts are meant to be used for a lifetime, it’s important to choose a basic yet timeless design that won’t become tiresome.”
New York Collection Launch

Busan’s representative jewelry brand ‘Trisha’ plans to launch its New York Collection as new spring products, which won the Grand Prize (Patent Office Commissioner’s Award) in the precious metals category at the ‘2013 Good Design Awards’ last October. The New York Collection is an ambitious work resulting from three years of research and development by the headquarters’ design research institute and the New York design studio.

“The New York Collection features an octagonal structure that breaks away from the fixed notion of typical round rings,” explained a ‘Trisha’ representative. “Its advantages include a unique design and superior wearability compared to round rings.”
