Creative Design Meets Diamond Craftsmanship… True ‘Watch Art’

Harry Winston, a prestigious jewelry and timepiece brand with over a century of tradition, established by the third generation of the Winston family, once again showcased its unique materials, technological prowess, and diamond-setting capabilities at this year’s Baselworld, solidifying its status.

This year marked the debut of Harry Winston’s first collection created in collaboration with the world’s largest watchmaking group, the Swatch Group. A host of new products were unveiled, combining Harry Winston’s unparalleled diamond-setting technology with the Swatch Group’s advanced watchmaking expertise.
The flagship product is the new model ‘Project Z8‘ from the ‘Project Z’ series. The Project Z series is a collection introduced each season, utilizing Zalium, a material developed in-house by the Harry Winston House. Zalium boasts greater hardness and lighter weight than titanium, along with strong corrosion resistance. Its bluish-gray color provides a captivating, subtle sheen, making this sporty timepiece stand out even more.

Unlike traditional hands that only move clockwise, this mechanism has been engineered to operate in a counter-clockwise direction as well. The anodized aluminum hands, with their precise curves and three-dimensional design, represent Harry Winston’s originality. The ‘Project Z8’ consists of a total of 281 components, 32 jewels, a silicium balance spring, and a newly designed white gold openworked oscillating weight.

The ‘Premier Chronograph 40mm‘ is a new product featuring dazzling jewelry, creative design, and exquisite decoration. It retains the iconic design of the Premier line, Harry Winston’s first timepiece collection launched in 1989, while adding creative and ingenious design elements. The rose gold case was crafted to be slimmer than the existing Premier Chronograph to emphasize elegance. All top-grade diamonds were set by hand, and the diamond on the crown was set in a three-dimensional manner, allowing the gemstone’s body to be fully appreciated.

The ‘Midnight Moon Phase Diamond Drop 39mm‘ faithfully translates the romance and beauty of the night sky—the radiant shape of the moon, cascading starlight—onto its dial. Prong setting (a technique where gems are secured with claw-like prongs) was used for each gem-setting groove to make it invisible, and the diamonds inside the dial, representing cascading stars, were set using the snow setting technique. The crescent-shaped moon phase aperture is positioned within a subtly shining blue sunray dial. The date can be seen through the aperture at the 6 o’clock position. At the 12 o’clock position, the emerald-cut shaped Harry Winston logo harmonizes with the design of the bezel densely set with diamonds. This product uses a total of 305 diamonds, weighing 1.55 carats.

The ‘Sublime Timepieces‘, which complete Harry Winston’s high jewelry collection, emphasize artistic sculptural beauty by incorporating the beautiful design of the ‘Cluster’ theme from Harry Winston’s jewelry collection into timepieces. Cluster is Harry Winston’s representative jewelry collection that captures the beauty of flowers.
The refined white gold case, shaped like the emerald-cut diamond beloved by founder Harry Winston, is composed of a mysteriously shining gray mother-of-pearl dial and two radiant cluster motifs. The clusters use 200 diamonds (2.19 carats) of various types. The Sublime is evaluated not only as a device that tells time but also as a work of art that offers supreme elegance when worn on the wrist.
