This gem is a 14.62-carat diamond with a rectangular cut and belongs to the highly rare ‘Fancy Vivid Blue’ grade.
The anonymous winning bidder, whose identity has not yet been revealed, must pay a total of 57.54 million US dollars, including fees.
Until now, the highest-priced gem at auction was the 12.03-carat ‘Blue Moon’ diamond, which was sold last year for 48.5 million US dollars, approximately 57.7 billion won.
