This article details the successful conclusion of the inaugural 2017 Shenzhen Jewelry Fashion Week (Spring), a key event co-created by the Luohu District government and industry associations. It highlights the event’s role in setting trends and fostering data-driven insights for the jewelry sector.

On March 16, the first 2017 Spring | Shenzhen Jewelry Fashion Week, which lasted for four days (March 13-16), came to a perfect conclusion at the Jinzhan Jewelry Museum. The inaugural 2017 Shenzhen Jewelry Fashion Week (Spring) was jointly created by the People’s Government of Luohu District, Shenzhen, and the Shenzhen Gold & Jewelry Association. It was organized by Shenzhen Zemu Culture Communication Co., Ltd. and Jinzhan Jewelry Plaza. This series of trend-release events focused on data publishing, trend forecasting, showcasing new jewelry creative designs, and facilitating exchange and interaction, gathering the most forward-thinking elites, the most authoritative large-scale institutions, and the most powerful industry giants in the jewelry sector.
Co-organizers and supporting units brought a series of magnificent shows and static exhibitions for jewelry enthusiasts. The Fashion Week also enlisted global organizations such as the World Gold Council, the International Platinum Association, and the International Colored Gemstone Association as partners to share authoritative data and assist in guidance and forecasting.
Celebrities were also an integral part of the Fashion Week. Invited guests included international charity peace ambassador and all-around artist Yang Lei, Miss Universe Mongolia champion Qiqige, CCTV host Yang Yi, Mongolian folk singer Morgen, Shenzhen TV host Dong Chao, and 2017 Miss United Nations China Hong Kong champion and host Xie Luxingdan. Their elegant personal demeanor complemented the brilliance of Shenzhen’s jewelry.
On the morning of March 13, the opening ceremony was successfully held. That evening, the “Luohu Fashion Night” opening banquet took place at the St. Regis Shenzhen.
In the afternoon, the “Spring Trend Release Conference – Gold & Platinum Session” was grandly launched. Industry leaders discussed gold and platinum spring trends and the 2017 gold price outlook.
On March 14, the “Contemporary Jewelry Forum – Read A Jewellery” was held, gathering leading domestic and international jewelry figures to discuss contemporary jewelry design.
In the afternoon, the “Trend Release Conference – Diamond & Colored Gemstone Session” was held. ALLOVE released a new global diamond consumption standard, Forevermark released diamond trends, and colored gemstone trends were jointly released by several organizations.
On March 15 morning, the National Gemstone Testing Center (NGTC) Shenzhen Laboratory held a report meeting, releasing analysis reports on NGTC diamond business data characteristics (2015-2016) and synthetic diamond features and inspection analysis.
In the afternoon, the “Angel Wedding Dress” new product launch by Oukiya Group was held grandly, aiming to showcase the pearl culture and the refined image of Shenzhen Jewelry Fashion Week.
On March 16 morning, the Jewelry Design Trend Release and the 5th China (Shenzhen) International Jewelry Design Competition Forum were successfully held. Industry leaders gave keynote speeches on 2017 jewelry design trends.
In the afternoon, the Shenzhen Diamond Industry Development Summit Forum and the Shenzhen Diamond Exchange Center Launch Ceremony were held, focusing on four themes: new retail, new services, new culture, and shared development.
Two concurrent exhibitions, “Not Only the Jewellery – Contemporary Jewelry Exhibition” and “New Jewelry Designer New Product Exhibition,” featuring works from renowned domestic and international modern jewelry designers, were also held during the Fashion Week.
Against the backdrop of the global financial crisis, Shenzhen’s jewelry industry stands out, showing strong development momentum. The successful hosting of the first 2017 Shenzhen Jewelry Fashion Week (Spring) fills people with confidence in this sunrise industry – Shenzhen is not far from becoming an international “Jewelry Fashion Capital”!
