This article explores a shift in wedding gift culture, moving away from traditional multi-set purchases toward more curated selections. It highlights how evolving consumer preferences and market offerings are reshaping pre-wedding rituals.

In recent times, as various jewelry production technologies and brands have begun to emerge, an event featuring a collection of premium Cheongdam jewelry production brands is capturing the attention of prospective couples nationwide.
The atmosphere of preparing at least three sets, and up to seven sets, of various items such as wedding bands, diamond rings, bridal sets, proposal rings, and wedding anniversary gifts is gradually fading. Instead, there is a growing trend among prospective couples to prepare even a single item, such as a trendy wedding ring, with the quality of luxury jewelry.
Aligning with rational and practical wedding trends, practicality is being valued even more. Couples are completing high-quality wedding couple rings with just a single pair of 14K couple rings, rather than 18K.

To align with this new wedding custom and to help establish a healthy wedding culture, the KJDC (Korea Jewelry Design Center) is hosting the ‘Seoul/Busan KJDC Wedding Gift Fair’ until the end of this month at the Paradiche Jewelry Exhibition Hall in Cheongdam-dong, Seoul, and Bumil-dong, Busan, as well as at the Alzeega Jewelry Exhibition Hall in Centum, Haeundae, Busan. The event operates on a consumer-direct transaction model with no commission fees.
Over 20 handmade jewelry brands affiliated with KJDC, including Alzeega, TURING BY, Paradiche, Raspinel, and Ring Village, will participate. The fair offers a one-stop opportunity to view unique wedding gifts, couple rings, and the latest trendy couple rings and bridal set designs preferred by recent prospective couples. One-on-one customized consultations with jewelry designers who have completed professional craftsmanship, design, and gemstone appraisal training are available, meeting the diverse needs of young couples preparing for their weddings.

As it is a rare, guerrilla-style event, abundant benefits and events have been prepared. New perks include groom’s ring at half price, diamond 1+1 offers, 14K to 18K upgrades, special offers for 1-carat diamond rings in the 3 million won range, GIA/Wooshin Appraisal Institute diamond cost-price sales, platinum X offers, and professional ring resetting consultations with the lowest labor costs. This provides an opportunity to prepare quality diamonds and high-quality jewelry all at once.

This main event taking place in Seoul and Busan allows for pre-registration through the KJDC Wedding Gift Fair website, where detailed information can also be found.
