CastForge records strong growth in exhibitors / Casting and forging industry holds high relevance across all sectors
After CastForge first opened its doors in Stuttgart in June 2018, the trade fair for cast and forged parts and their processing is now entering its second round. A key success factor of the fair is the close cooperation with industry associations – both nationally and internationally. Together with the Industrieverband Massivumformung e. V., the Bundesverband der Deutschen Gießerei-Industrie e. V. (BDG), and FUNDIGEX, the Spanish association of foundry exporters, Messe Stuttgart welcomed media partners during the opening press conference on Tuesday, June 21, the first day of the fair.

A total of 104 national and 219 international exhibitors fill the two exhibition halls. “This is impressive international interest in the trade fair,” said Gunnar Mey, Director of Fairs & Events at Messe Stuttgart. “We also find the high loyalty of our exhibitors impressive and, above all, appreciative.” In halls 3 (Jacques Lanners Halle) and 5 on the northern section of the Stuttgart exhibition grounds, cast and forged parts and processors are presented on a new scale across a net area of approximately 6,000 square meters.

Schumacher also stressed the importance of CastForge for the industry: “The experience from the last edition was that CastForge is exactly where the right customers can be met. The trade fair is an important hotspot for us.”
The forging industry finds resonance across a wide variety of sectors and is indispensable. For example, electric vehicles are inconceivable without solid-formed components, and aviation would not be possible. “Every day, everyone uses at least one forged part,” emphasized Tobias Hain, Managing Director of the Industrieverband Massivumformung e. V., highlighting the cross-industry importance of forging. “CastForge stands for a fair that compactly provides insight into two industries over three days. It is characterized by its internationality and its down-to-earth approach, which fits the industry perfectly,” Hain added.
Marina Giacopinelli emphasized the importance of exports for foundries, not only in Spain. There, Giacopinelli is the Managing Director of the export association FUNDIGEX.

CastForge remains the meeting point for the casting and forging industry in Stuttgart until Thursday. Together with partners, an attractive supporting program has been organized. Practical and keynote presentations by exhibitors and some technical partners, guided tours by BDGuss, the annual conference of the Industrieverband Massivumformung, GlobalFlow, and the Purchasing Day of the Bundesverband Materialeinkauf und Logistik (BME) round off the fair.
