“Gemstones have been a childhood passion,” recounts this native of Angers. “My parents had a vacation home in the Jura, where there were a huge number of lapidaries until the beginning of the 20th century…”

He can differentiate the green of an emerald from that of a tourmaline at first glance. In François Deprez’s world, a sapphire can also be pink, and the red of a ruby has nothing to envy from that of a garnet.
