This article announces the upcoming Japan Jewellery Fair (JJF), the country’s premier international trade event for the industry, set to take place at Tokyo Big Sight.

Japan’s Largest International Jewellery Trade Show to be Held at Tokyo Big Sight

Japan’s largest international jewellery trade show for the precious metals and jewellery industry, the Japan Jewellery Fair (JJF), will be held at Tokyo Big Sight, co-organized by Informa Markets Japan and the Japan Jewellery Association.

JJF2022’s Four Themes: “TRADE”, “CHECK”, “LEARN”, “CONNECT”

Japan Jewellery Fair 2022, returning to Tokyo for the first time in three years, focuses on the themes of “TRADE”, “CHECK”, “CONNECT”, and “LEARN”. It aims to achieve fruitful business negotiations, market development and expansion, and nurturing the next generation, thereby revitalizing the domestic jewellery industry in collaboration with the Japan Jewellery Association.

TRADE – A Pure B2B Sourcing Venue

Japan Jewellery Fair (JJF) has been held as an “international jewellery trade show by the industry, for the industry” at the optimal timing for sourcing ahead of the Christmas and year-end sales season. It is a major event for the jewellery industry, bringing together retailers nationwide with jewellery manufacturers and distributors. This professional exhibition, where one can examine products, engage in thorough negotiations, and make purchases, presents an excellent opportunity to source quality goods.

CHECK – New & Trend Products Gather

JJF brings together a diverse range of trending products, including high-quality, affordable light jewellery from fine jewellery manufacturers, fashion jewellery for the apparel & fashion industry, as well as genderless jewellery, wedding jewellery, men’s jewellery, and e-commerce compatible products.

LEARN – Industry Seminars & Latest Information

JJF is well-received not only as a trade and sourcing exhibition but also as a venue for gathering the latest information. Cutting-edge industry trends from product development to sales strategies, both domestic and international, are disseminated through seminars and events. All of the over 10 planned sessions are free to attend, and advance registration, which began on July 13, is expected to fill up quickly. Seminar and event information can be found on the Japan Jewellery Fair 2022 official website.

CONNECT – Business Matching with Leading Companies

The Japan Jewellery Fair, a joint project with the Japan Jewellery Association which leads the Japanese jewellery industry, gathers industry leaders. It is trusted not only as a “venue for business negotiations” and a “place for information gathering” but also as a new platform for business matching.

Numerous Industry Seminars and Events Packed with the Latest Information!

Japan Jewellery Fair is well-received not only as a trade and sourcing exhibition but also as a venue for gathering the latest information. Numerous seminars with immediately applicable content, ranging from sales strategies to technical aspects, will be held! The latest industry trends from various experts will be shared through seminars and events again this year.
Furthermore, Anne Mika, who has been appointed as a JC Ambassador, will appear at the Jewellery Coordinator Customer Service Contest (held on September 1) hosted by the Japan Jewellery Association! In the talk show, she will speak broadly about the appeal of Japanese jewellery and points to consider in customer service.

Special Feature! WeChat Matchmaking Event to be Held
None

A matchmaking event utilizing the WeChat platform owned by Informa Markets’ China office will also be implemented at JJF2022, hosted by JETRO (Japan External Trade Organization). 19 companies actively seeking proposals for buyers in mainland China will conduct live streams from their respective exhibition booths to over 36,000 WeChat followers (overseas Chinese buyers) and Chinese buyers residing in Japan living in the Tokyo metropolitan area and three surrounding prefectures.
Regarding this initiative, Christopher Eve, Representative Director of Informa Markets Japan, the organizer of JJF, commented as follows:

“The jewellery industry has also accelerated its shift from analog to digital during the pandemic lasting over two years, and the jewellery market has changed significantly. This program started from our desire to support building networks with B2B buyers even amidst travel restrictions. By utilizing the buyer database owned by Informa Markets, exhibitors can efficiently discover potential and new customers overseas while remaining in Japan. We believe it is very important for exhibitors to have an existing customer base when travel restrictions are lifted and they participate in overseas exhibitions. Continuing to approach customers and maintaining their own fan base. This program makes that possible. From before the exhibition until after it ends, continuous outreach to buyers via social media is possible. Also, for those attending, please come to the venue to directly source products that caught your interest during the streams.”
Japan Jewellery Fair – Initiatives for SDGs

Through holding the exhibition, Japan Jewellery Fair aims to fully recognize its responsibility and impact on the environment, society, and economy, and to contribute to promoting and enhancing sustainability in the jewellery industry. In 2022, it is undertaking the following initiatives:
1. Disseminate information about human resource development in the jewellery industry and SDGs initiatives through seminars held at the venue and online seminars.
2. Collection of PET bottle caps.
3. Collection of air cushioning material “Puchi Puchi”.
4. Production of printed materials using environmentally friendly ink and paper.
5. Walk the World.
