We haven’t seen anything like it in 300 years. In Angola, a pink diamond weighing 170 carats and 34 grams has been found. The jewel will be sold in an international tender, likely at a dazzling price that could exceed 200 million euros.
The most expensive one sold to date, with one-third of the carats, was sold for 71.2 million dollars.
With its 170 carats in the rough, it is the largest pink diamond found in the last 3 centuries and already has its own name. The Lulo Rose has been located in a mine in Angola.
It will be sold through an international tender, and although the starting price has not yet been announced, it is clear that the zeros will shine brighter than the diamond. It is destined to become a historic stone, as others have done before.
The largest diamond is the one known as the Golden Jubilee, held by the King of Thailand.
And when it comes to royalty, Elizabeth II takes the crown. In her famous crown jewels, she has embedded some of the world’s largest diamonds. Among them, one of the so-called cursed ones, the Koh-i-Noor.
The Pink Star, the little cousin of the Lulo Rose with half the carats, was auctioned a few years ago for more than 60 million euros.
