3D Systems has introduced the ProJet MJP 2500W Plus, a new 3D printer designed specifically for the jewelry industry. This model promises enhanced resolution and faster production of casting patterns, aiming to boost both precision and throughput for jewelers.

3D Systems has launched the ‘ProJet MJP 2500W Plus’, a 3D printer for jewelry that features increased resolution and improved casting pattern throughput.
The ProJet MJP 2500W Plus was developed to produce wax 3D printed jewelry patterns with sharp detail and fine geometries by enhancing speed and precision. It can create intricate jewelry patterns with accurate, sharp edges and clear detail by 3D printing with 100% wax material. The VisiJet wax material can be melted like standard casting wax, which contains no ash, to create flawless casting patterns.
Designed to meet the unique requirements of the jewelry industry, the ProJet MJP 2500W Plus can generate high-resolution, 100% wax casting patterns in just hours. Furthermore, using a new high-resolution printing mode enables the creation of best-in-class, smooth pure wax casting patterns that require less polishing work, thereby reducing precious metal waste. According to 3D Systems, this allows for the fast, cost-effective creation, iteration, and production of all jewelry styles, including complex geometries.
Manual polishing can strain labor and materials, negatively impacting profitability. To address this, the ProJet MJP 2500W Plus includes a new HD printing mode that improves Z-axis resolution by up to 2x without increasing wax material consumption. As a result, the need for manual polishing of high-quality surface finish final parts is reduced, allowing users to produce more complex designs that require no polishing.
Meeting both demand and high-quality conditions requires the ability for rapid design iteration, customization, and mass production. The ProJet MJP 2500W Plus was developed to increase throughput by up to 25% compared to existing solutions. As the printer’s productivity increases, customers can reduce part lead times and enhance the flexibility of their production schedules. Through the ProJet MJP 2500W Plus jewelry casting 3D printer, VisiJet wax materials, and 3DSprint software, precise 100% wax casting patterns for mass jewelry production can be produced quickly and consistently.
