Editor’s Note
This article highlights a unique achievement in jewelry craftsmanship—a record-breaking ring set with over 50,000 diamonds. While such feats showcase remarkable technical skill, they also invite reflection on the diverse values that define artistry in jewelry beyond sheer quantity.

For years, Indian jewelers have been competing to fit as many diamonds as possible onto a single ring. The new record holder is H.K. Design from Mumbai. Their Eutierria ring sparkles with 50,907 diamonds.
The exquisite high jewelry creations from renowned jewelry houses are undoubtedly fascinating. However, they are not the ultimate in every aspect of jewelry making. At least not when it comes to the ring with the most diamonds. While this may not be the main criterion driving the majority of designers, it has been an official discipline in the Guinness World Records for several years. The new record holder is H.K. Design from Mumbai with the Eutierria ring, which features 50,907 diamonds with a total weight of 130.19 carats.

says Hasu Dholakiya, Managing Director of H.K. Designs. From the initial idea to the finished piece, the world record project took a good nine months. The design process alone took four months.
To achieve the goal of accommodating at least 50,000 diamonds, compromises had to be made regarding comfort and wearability – after all, the Eutierria ring weighs 460.55 grams.
The value of the piece is 725,133 euros. The ring is extraordinary not only because of its dimensions and the quantity of gemstones but also a shining example in terms of sustainability. It was crafted exclusively from recycled gold and second-hand diamonds.

The use of recycled gold in jewelry making has long been common practice, especially in Europe. In other markets, there was long-standing skepticism towards this noble recycled metal. However, this is changing as the topic of sustainability comes increasingly into focus. In contrast, recycled diamonds are still an absolute niche. According to an analysis by Tacy Diamond, the global turnover for these is 230 million US dollars per year. This corresponds to just 0.25 percent of the entire diamond market.
In 2014, De Beers launched a pilot project to analyze and stimulate the resale market for diamonds. Through its subsidiary, the International Institute of Diamond Valuation (IIDV), it aimed to buy back old diamonds at the highest possible prices, regardless of size or quality. However, feedback from jewelers was low, and five years later, the project was discontinued.
It remains to be seen whether the Eutierria ring can increase the jewelry industry’s interest in second-hand diamonds. The extraordinary piece was presented at the JCK Show in Las Vegas (June 2nd to 5th), which expects around 30,000 trade visitors from around the world.

The previous record holder was the Ami Ring by SWA Diamonds with 24,679 diamonds. It is not known which and how many jewelers participate in the race for the ring with the most diamonds. However, Indian jewelers win with pleasing regularity. In 2015, Savio Jewellery with 3,827 diamonds surpassed Lobortas Classic Jewelry House from Ukraine, which had held the record with 2,525 diamonds since 2011. In 2018, the brothers Vishal and Kushu Agaval followed with 6,690 diamonds and were overtaken the following year by Kashiaa Jewels (7,777 diamonds). In 2020, Renani (current record holder for the watch with the most diamonds) set a new record mark with 12,638 diamonds, which held for almost two years before being nearly doubled by SWA Diamonds in 2022 (24,679 diamonds). It remains to be seen how long the new record by H.K. Design will last.
