Tiffany & Co. announces the acquisition of an unparalleled gemstone, an emerald weighing over 10 carats. This rare gem, sourced directly from Muzo Emerald Colombia, renowned as the world’s premier source of the highest quality emeralds, has been named the “Tiffany Muzo Emerald” after the famed Muzo mine, located 60 miles northwest of Bogotá, its place of origin. This vibrant colored stone embodies Tiffany’s relentless pursuit of the most beautiful gemstones nature has to offer.

The finest emerald ever mined from Colombia’s famed Muzo mine now bears the Tiffany name. This rectangular square-cut emerald, weighing over 10 carats, was mined in December 2019 from the historic Puerto Arturo vein. Its extreme clarity makes it exceptionally rare, offering superb transparency that further enhances its outstanding color. It is free of fissures and virtually inclusion-free, aside from very minor inclusions found under microscopic examination, consistent with characteristics seen in Colombian emeralds mined from Muzo. Furthermore, it displays the beautifully saturated green color that makes Muzo emeralds so coveted. This unique emerald, combining overwhelming size, celebrated origin, beautiful color, and exceptional crystal quality, is a true wonder of nature, a gemstone worthy of its new name: the Tiffany Muzo Emerald.

The “Tiffany Muzo Emerald” is set to be unveiled in the upcoming high jewelry collection, ‘Blue Book 2023: Out of the Blue,’ this fall.
