This month, Eppli’s renowned Best Of Auctions series returns, featuring exceptional lots across luxury categories. Highlights include fine jewelry from Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, alongside rare vintage timepieces like the Rolex “Jean-Claude Killy” chronograph.
October at Eppli is dedicated to its popular Best Of Auctions. On three Saturdays of the month, exceptional items in the categories of Jewelry & Gemstones, Luxury & Vintage Watches, Designer Fashion, Art & Antiques, as well as Coins, Stamps & Historical Items will be auctioned. This includes high-caliber jewelry pieces from Cartier, Wellendorff, and Van Cleef & Arpels, the rare vintage Rolex Dato-Compax Chronograph “Jean-Claude Killy,” and much more. Interested parties can participate and bid not only on-site but also online from anywhere in the world.
Kicking off the October Best Of Auction series is the “Jewelry & Gemstones” category, featuring selected treasures from many renowned jewelry brands. A highlight is a pendant with a large 66.19-carat Colombian emerald, set with numerous diamonds, entering the auction with a starting price of €110,000. A particularly historic rarity is the fire-gilded bracelet (starting price: €10,000) with an applied monogram, half-pearls, and sapphire cabochons from the estate of Princess Elisabeth Alexandra Luise of Hesse-Darmstadt, who was a member of the last Russian Tsar’s family.
The watch highlights from Rolex, Patek Philippe, and Audemars Piguet will be offered in a separate auction on the same day. The rare vintage Rolex Dato-Compax Chronograph “Jean-Claude Killy” (starting price: €90,000) is likely to attract significant attention. The watch was named after Jean-Claude Killy – the now 81-year-old Frenchman was one of the most successful alpine ski racers in the 1960s, winning multiple Olympic gold medals and world championship titles, and was active as a racing driver and sports official after his competitive career. The special feature: This watch was produced in very limited numbers. Also in the spotlight is the vintage Audemars Piguet Royal Oak “Jumbo” (starting price: €30,000) with a certificate of authenticity, which has undergone a complete overhaul. There are fewer than 1,000 examples of this bicolor model variant in total.
