A rare 16-carat diamond fetched nearly 10 million rupees on the second day of a major auction in Panna, with a 32-carat gem set to be the highlight of the final day.
On the second day of the three-day diamond auction in Panna, 52 diamonds in 23 trays were auctioned, among which a rare 16-carat 10-cent diamond was sold for 97.56 lakh rupees. The total weight of 33 diamonds was 77 carats 65 cents, valued at 1.40 crore rupees. On the final day, a 32-carat diamond will be the main attraction.
The second day of the ongoing three-day auction of diamonds obtained from shallow diamond mines in Panna district, Madhya Pradesh, known as the city of diamonds, was also historic. On Thursday, the second day of the auction, 52 diamonds placed in 23 trays were auctioned, with crores-worth diamonds being sold.
The main attraction of the auction was a rare 16-carat 10-cent diamond of gem quality, which was obtained by Prakash Majumdar from Jaruaapur. This magnificent diamond was purchased by trader Jinesh Sah from Surat at a rate of 6 lakh 6 thousand rupees per carat, totaling 97 lakh 56 thousand 600 rupees.
Diamond Officer Ravi Patel informed that on the second day, a total of 33 diamonds placed in 16 trays were auctioned. The total weight of these diamonds was 77 carats 65 cents, which were auctioned for 1 crore 40 lakh 34 thousand 810 rupees.
On the final day of the auction, Friday, a rare 32-carat 80-cent diamond will be presented for auction. This is the biggest attraction of the auction so far, and traders are extremely eager about it.
