Phillips’ recent Hong Kong Jewels Auction achieved a strong result of HK$51 million, with 76% of lots sold. The house attributes this performance to market resilience and its own strategic growth.

The Phillips Hong Kong Jewels Auction saw lively bidding on the phones, in the room, and online last week – achieving a total of HK$51 million (£5m), with 76% of the 97 lots sold.
Strong results were achieved for coloured stones, including the sale’s top lot: a 7.02ct Burmese ruby and diamond ring, which sold for HK$9.88 million (£970k).
Additionally, a Burmese ruby and diamond necklace with rubies totalling approximately 54.18ct sold for HK$8.25 million (£810k), and a 10.84ct cushion-shaped alexandrite chrysoberyl and diamond ring sold for HK$7.6 million (£750k) – more than three times its low estimate.
Outstanding results were seen throughout the sale for signed jewels, with nearly 94% of the pieces offered being sold.
Highlights included a Cartier diamond ring set with a 5.58ct emerald-cut diamond, which sold for HK$1.14 million (£110k).
Additionally, a Bulgari Serpenti Viper diamond bangle sold for HK$444,500 (£43,645), a Chaumet Joséphine Aigrette Impériale ruby and diamond ring sold for HK$431,800 (£42,398), and an aquamarine and diamond ring by Van Cleef & Arpels sold for HK$241,300 (£23,693).
