Editor’s Note
The Jaipur Jewellery Show, a premier industry event, opens today with a focus on rubies. We look forward to covering the latest trends and innovations from the exhibition.

The country’s number one B2B and B2C show – the ‘Mahakumbh’ of gems and jewellery, the Jaipur Jewellery Show (JJS), will have a grand opening today at 11 AM at the Jaipur Exhibition and Convention Centre (JECC) in Sitapura, Jaipur. The show will be inaugurated by the Minister of Industry and Commerce, Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore. This year’s theme for JJS is ‘Rubies… Rare, Royal and Rewarded’. After focusing on emeralds for the past two years, this year’s show will place special emphasis on the variety, quality, and designs of ruby jewellery. A JJS Ruby Promotion Group has also been formed to promote this special gem, comprising 15 members, with Gemfields as its prime partner. This information was provided by JJS Chairman, Vimal Chand Surana.
He further stated that this year the show will feature over 1200 booths, the highest number to date, representing a 10 percent increase compared to last year. Of these, 329 booths will be for gemstones, 723 will display jewellery, while 13 will feature costume and silver articles. Additionally, 58 booths will be for allied machinery. In the jewellery section, approximately 66 percent are designer booths. The show will also provide opportunities for jewellers and gemstone dealers, jewellery institutions, and publications.
There will be separate sections for jewellery and gemstones. This classification will make it easier for customers to find products of their choice. JJS Honorary Secretary, Rajiv Jain, informed that this year, around 1000 top jewellery retailers from across the country are participating in JJS. Invited by JJS, these retailers visit the show every year and establish contacts as B2B buyers for regular supply of their products during the show, ensuring buyers maintain continuous contact with jewellery manufacturers. He further added that another highlight of JJS 2024 will be the Networking Dinner organized on December 21. This splendid networking evening provides exhibitors an opportunity and platform to interact with top retailers and JJS buyers while enjoying dinner and a live band performance.
According to Jain, this time over 8,000 trade visitors and approximately 50,000 domestic and international visitors have already arrived in Jaipur to participate in the show. This includes exhibitors from various cities across the country such as Mumbai, Kolkata, Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Ahmedabad, in addition to Jaipur’s own exhibitors. Furthermore, international exhibitors from Bangkok and Hong Kong are also participating in the event. In JJS 2022, a new exclusive B2B pavilion named ‘Pink Club’ was added in honor of the Pink City, which has since been a major attraction at JJS. This year, at JJS 2024, the Pink Club will also be at a new location and will be part of Hall 2 with more space. The Pink Club will have 98 pre-fabricated booths, and only B2B clients can enter this pavilion.
Providing information about the show hours, JJS spokesperson, Ajay Kala, stated that this year at JJS, Women Achievers will also be honored. After considerable deliberation, 5 women have been selected for this honor, who will be felicitated on the JJS platform. Regarding the business hours of the show, Kala informed that it will be open for visitors from 10 AM to 7 PM. For general visitors, the show timings will be from 1 PM to 7 PM. On the last day, Monday, December 23, the show will be open until 6:30 PM. He further added that special attention has been paid to the facilities and security of visitors coming to the show.
As in previous years, free shuttle facilities have been arranged for the movement of visitors and exhibitors to and from the show. Meanwhile, robust arrangements for medical services, ambulance, and fire safety have been made during the show. From a security perspective, arrangements have been made by the organizers at both the personal camera level and the JJS level. To further enhance security this year, over 500 cameras have been installed in common areas. Additionally, there will be a bar-coded entry system for the show. Furthermore, to encourage and promote designers during the show, the Jaipur Jewellery Show is hosting the Jaipur Jewellery Design Festival (JJDF) for the 7th time this year, whose theme is ‘Tradition Meets Innovation..Ruby Redefined’.
