【Ouagadougou,】Burkina Faso Quality Award 2024: SN CITEC Sweeps Almost Everything

Awards Ceremony Highlights Quality Efforts

The closing ceremony of the 13th edition of the Burkina Faso Quality Award (PBQ) and the 34th edition of the National Quality Days (JNQ) was held on the evening of Friday, November 15, 2024, in Ouagadougou. This ceremony highlighted the efforts of companies committed to improving the quality of their services in Burkina Faso. In total, 17 awards were presented to Burkinabe companies for their adherence to quality standards for “made in Burkina” products. There were 9 special awards, 6 Burkina Faso Quality Awards, one excellence award, and the special award from the President of Faso.

The winners received certificates, trophies, and checks ranging from 500,000 FCFA to 2,000,000 FCFA to encourage them to maintain their efforts in the pursuit of quality. The winning companies were evaluated on several criteria, among which was, notably, environmental preservation.

Evaluation Criteria Explained
“At level 1, there are 9 criteria; at level 2, 18 criteria; at level 3, 27 criteria; and at level 4, 40 criteria. Companies are categorized according to their number of employees. Across all categories, for the excellence award, a score above 800 points was required,” explained Dr. Thomas Compaoré, president of the jury.
SN CITEC’s Dominant Performance

SN CITEC was distinguished as the best. It won the Diamond or Excellence Award, which rewards the best companies that respect the quality standards for products manufactured in Burkina Faso. The value of this award is 2,000,000 FCFA.

It also won the special award from the Minister of Environment, Water, and Sanitation for waste management mastery, the use of renewable energies, and actions undertaken for environmental preservation and protection. SN CITEC also took home the special award from the Minister of Industry and Commerce, an award that combines the best score in product achievement and leadership. The icing on the cake, it finished as the winner of the special award from the President of Faso.

“It is a dual feeling of pride and humility that moves me. To all the actors who contributed to this distinction, I say thank you. This award is proof of the resilience of a staff and an industrial society concerned about the health of consumers,” rejoiced its General Director, Ibrahim Traoré.
Other Winners and Organizers

The Burkina Faso Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCI-BF), for its part, won the bronze or quality commitment award, in category A, as a company employing more than 100 people. The prize consists of a trophy, an envelope of 500,000 FCFA, and a certificate.

The 13th edition of the Burkina Faso Quality Award (PBQ) and the 34th edition of the National Quality Days (JNQ) were organized by the Burkinabe Agency for Standardization, Metrology, and Quality (ABNORM) and the Burkinabe Association for Quality Management (ABMAQ).

The Secretary General of the Ministry of Industry, Commerce, and Crafts, Oumarou Barro, representing Minister Serge Poda, presided over the award ceremony to salute their resilience in the current context of Burkina Faso.

“This is in line with the government’s vision of building a quality, effective, and efficient public administration in the service of citizens, in order to support companies in the production of quality goods and services,” he said.
