Richemont, the Swiss luxury group behind Cartier, has acquired Italian jewelry brand Vhernier, expanding its portfolio to 29 brands. This strategic move strengthens its presence in the high-end jewelry segment.


On May 7, Swiss luxury giant Richemont, the parent company of high-end jewelry brands such as Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, announced the acquisition of 100% of the shares of the Italian jewelry brand Vhernier. Upon completion of the transaction, Vhernier will become the 29th brand in the group’s luxury portfolio.


Vhernier was founded in 1984 in Valenza, Piedmont, Italy, by artisans including Angela Camurati. It started as a goldsmith’s workshop and gradually expanded to become a professional manufacturer of gold and jewelry items, including rings, necklaces, bracelets, earrings, and pendants. In 2001, Vhernier was acquired by Aura, the holding company of brothers Carlo Traglio and Maurizio Traglio.
