This partnership between Tiffany & Co. and the CFDA represents a significant investment in the future of American jewelry design. By providing substantial financial support and an immersive fellowship, the award aims to elevate emerging talent and foster a more diverse and innovative industry.
In an effort to foster inclusion and innovation in the jewelry industry, Tiffany & Co. has partnered with the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) to launch the inaugural Tiffany & Co. x CFDA Jewelry Designer Award. This initiative seeks to identify and support a new generation of jewelry designers in the United States, offering the winner a prize of $50,000 and a one-year paid fellowship at Tiffany.
Steven Kolb, CEO of the CFDA, highlighted the award’s importance for the American creative community.
The award is granted as part of a mentorship program described by Tiffany as “a multi-week learning experience and a unique design challenge.” Tiffany and the CFDA are seeking jewelers who elevate the category of fine jewelry amidst the competitive ready-to-wear industries. Applicants must demonstrate “a love for creativity, inventiveness, and the extraordinary savoir-faire that has been synonymous with Tiffany & Co. since its founding in 1837,” according to the luxury brand.
This collaboration between Tiffany & Co. and the CFDA not only reinforces both entities’ commitment to inclusion and excellence but also provides a unique platform for emerging designers to showcase their talent and contribute to the evolution of fine jewelry in the United States.
