You now know how to create a new character, explore, find quests, progress your character, and face enemies. All that’s left is to discover Tamriel as you wish. ESO is brimming with activities; take the time to explore everything the game has to offer.
Prefer to play solo? No problem, there’s no shortage of solo quests. The main story of The Elder Scrolls Online pits you against the Daedric Prince Molag Bal and the sorcerer Mannimarco in a quest to reclaim your soul. You’ll also find numerous quests to complete as you explore this world! While traveling through Tamriel, you’ll encounter all sorts of characters. You can even access many additional stories by purchasing downloadable Game Packs from the Crown Store… or via your ESO Plus membership.
New Chapters, our largest content deployments featuring new landscapes, challenges, and characters, are released each year. They are available for purchase on our official website or through your preferred platform.
As you journey through Tamriel, you can also undertake quests for the Fighters Guild, Mages Guild, Thieves Guild, and Dark Brotherhood, among other groups. Are you a noble warrior, a deadly assassin… or both? You will never run out of new adventures.
Want to set up shop in Tamriel? You can become a master crafter in any profession. You can learn Alchemy, Blacksmithing, Clothing, Enchanting, Woodworking, and Provisioning. With access to the Summerset downloadable Game Pack, you can also learn Jewelry Crafting. And your skill will improve with every item you craft!
To get started, harvest the natural resources you find on your travels, or find supplies in crates and sacks around you. You can also deconstruct and research items to gather additional raw materials and learn to craft better items, and even fulfill daily crafting writs to earn unique rewards!
Finally, if you have a homebody spirit, you can buy and customize your own residence.
If you enjoy playing with others and taking on challenges that no single character could accomplish alone, you will often have the opportunity.
Dungeons are instanced areas for four players that cannot be completed solo and offer more challenging encounters and unique rewards. Trials are challenges for 12-player groups, representing the most difficult yet most rewarding content in the game. Dark Anchors and World Bosses are perilous events found in the open world that (usually) require the cooperation of multiple players.
You’ll find many other group activities in the game, so keep your eyes open! If you’re having trouble finding people to play with, you can always join a guild or use the Activity Finder tool.
If you enjoy fighting against other players, there are three different player-versus-player combat modes.
Duels are one-on-one fights that can take place in most public spaces. Both players must accept the duel before the fight begins! Alliance War is a massive open-world PvP battleground where characters fight for their alliance in the province of Cyrodiil, capturing keeps and Elder Scrolls to earn points and win lengthy campaigns. Battlegrounds are short 4v4v4 skirmishes in an arena that allow players to practice PvP with five unique game modes: Deathmatch, Capture the Relic, Domination, Chaosball, and Crazy King.
