Rajesh Mehta is the founder and executive chairman of Rajesh Exports and is considered one of the world’s largest gold exporters. Rajesh Mehta inherited the gold and silver trade, which he transformed into a global venture through his hard work.
Valcambi, the world’s largest gold refinery company, is located in Switzerland and has been acquired by Rajesh Mehta’s company, Rajesh Exports. This Swiss refinery is capable of processing over 2,000 tons of gold, silver, platinum, and palladium annually. Rajesh Mehta’s company acquired the Swiss refinery Valcambi in July 2015, and now it has refineries in both Switzerland and India.
Rajesh Exports processes over 35% of the world’s gold; it is a Fortune 500 company and one of the world’s largest gold refining and jewelry companies.
Rajesh Mehta’s father, Jaswantrai Mehta, moved from Gujarat to Karnataka for the jewelry business. After his studies, Rajesh Mehta also joined the family business. In 1982, he used to buy silver jewelry from Chennai and sell it in Rajkot, Gujarat. After achieving success in the jewelry business, he started a small unit in his garage in Bangalore for manufacturing gold jewelry.
After continuous success in business, he began exporting gold jewelry to several countries. Recognized as a major gold exporter in India and the world, Rajesh Mehta is counted among the wealthiest individuals in Bangalore.
