Congress Faces Defeat in Bihar Assembly Elections

The Congress party has faced defeat in the Bihar Legislative Assembly elections. Following the party’s loss, former Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, Bhupesh Baghel, has targeted the Election Commission.

Allegations Against the Chief Election Commissioner

Bhupesh Baghel, a senior observer for the Congress party for the Bihar elections, alleged that if there is one person responsible for the results, it is Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

“The Bihar election results indicate that the NDA is securing a three-fourths majority. Amit Shah had already spoken about this. If there is one person responsible for these entire election results, it is Gyanesh Kumar. He deserves advance congratulations and best wishes for this.”
On Congratulating Gyanesh Kumar

When asked about congratulating Gyanesh Kumar, Bhupesh Baghel said,

“The way the Election Commission worked made everything clear. Therefore, whoever is responsible will be congratulated. Gyanesh Kumar ji played a crucial role in this entire election, so many, many congratulations and best wishes to him.”
‘Jungle Raj’ Image is an Old Narrative

When asked why Congress repeatedly forms alliances with the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) in Bihar if the RJD allegedly has an image of ‘Jungle Raj’, Bhupesh Baghel responded,

“People born twenty years ago don’t know about that Jungle Raj. They know about the current Jungle Raj. Everyone across the country knows about the ‘Jungle Raj’ of Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah.”

He added,

“You are talking about old things. It’s about deciding the narrative. Congratulations to Gyanesh Kumar ji for this.”

When asked about Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), he said, “Many more things will come to light.”
