【India】CBIC Revises Duty Drawback Rates for Gold and Silver Jewellery

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has issued revised All Industry Rates (AIR) for duty drawback on gold and silver jewellery, effective immediately. This update, enacted via Notification No. 67/2025, modifies key tariff items for the sector.

The Central Board of Indirect Taxes and Customs (CBIC) has notified revised All Industry Rates (AIR) of duty drawback for gold and silver jewellery, effective immediately. These changes, enacted via Notification No. 67/2025- Customs (N.T.) dated October 27, 2025, modify previous notifications including No. 77/2023 – Customs (N.T.).

Amended Tariff Items

These amendments specifically impact drawback tariff items 711301 (gold jewellery), 711302 (silver jewellery/articles), and 711401 (silver jewellery/articles). The revisions involve substituting existing figures in column (4) of the schedule in Chapter 71:

  • For tariff item 711301, the figure “466.76” is replaced with “524.27”.
  • For tariff item 711302, the figure “5234.00” is replaced with “6317.22”.
  • For tariff item 711401, the figure “5234.00” is replaced with “6317.22”.

Legal Basis

These amendments are made under the powers conferred by Section 75 of the Customs Act, 1962, and Section 37 of the Central Excise Act, 1944, in conjunction with the Customs and Central Excise Duties Drawback Rules, 2017.

Objective

The revised rates aim to provide updated drawback benefits for exporters of gold and silver jewellery and articles, reflecting current industry dynamics.
