Ganesh Chaturthi is being celebrated across India on Wednesday. In Maharashtra, every street and neighborhood is adorned with grand displays and pandals of Lord Ganesha. In Surat, a jeweler has created the world’s smallest 1-inch gold idols of Ganesha and Lakshmi.
Meanwhile, millions of devotees are thronging for darshan, from Mumbai’s Lalbaugcha Raja to Pune’s Dagdusheth Halwai Ganpati. The morning aarti was performed at Mumbai’s Siddhivinayak Temple.
Special aartis, decorations, and displays are also being organized in Ganesh temples in Delhi, Gujarat, Karnataka, Telangana, Madhya Pradesh, and other states across the country. This year, the Maharashtra government has officially declared the public Ganesh festival as the ‘Maharashtra State Festival’.
