The government has expanded the list of airports through which passengers can carry gems and jewellery for personal use, with Ahmedabad now included. This move aims to facilitate smoother international travel for such items.

The government has allowed the import and export of gems and jewellery parcels for personal carriage through Ahmedabad Airport, according to a notification from the Ministry of Commerce.
The other airports already on the approved list are Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Jaipur.
The Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT), the arm of the commerce ministry that handles import and export regulations, has officially confirmed the update.
