The attack had just begun. In footage captured by bystanders, the perpetrators can be seen approaching their target, a precious metals and gold refinery in Lyon. Two men exit a vehicle, having just used explosives. One of them, wearing a hood, carries a ladder which he throws inside the building’s perimeter.
Very quickly, members of the commando unit emerge from the laboratory carrying small white bags which they load into their van. Several men wear orange armbands, which could lead one to believe they are police. A blue flashing light is also positioned on the vehicle. Along the road, another member of the group stands guard, heavily armed.
