Mumbai, Dec 5 – A case has come to light where a fraudster, claiming to be a Class One officer in the office of then Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, cheated a diamond merchant of Rs 2.8 crore. The accused is named Vaibhav Thakur. He committed fraud worth crores by posing as an officer from Chief Minister Eknath Shinde’s office.

Thakur’s fraudulent activities were not limited to Maharashtra; he also performed this feat in Goa. In the presence of Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant, the accused Vaibhav Thakur had distributed 31 laptops to the Goa Police.
Vaibhav Thakur pretended to have close relations with the Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand, Goa, and Maharashtra, thereby cheating many. So far, a case has been registered against him for fraud involving gold, cash, diamonds, and other valuable jewellery. A case of forgery, impersonation, and cheating by conspiracy has been registered against the accused Thakur at the LT Marg Police Station.

Not only that, but he would also take the merchant to the Chief Minister’s Varsha Bungalow in a yellow-number-plate car.
