This article reports on the formal charging of two suspects in the disappearance of a 16-year-old student in Mexico. The case remains under active investigation.

Gabriel Rafael “N” and Paulo Alberto “N” have been formally charged for their alleged involvement in the disappearance of Kimberly, a student at CCH Naucalpan. They will remain in the Barrientos prison in the State of Mexico after a judge linked them to the legal process. A new hearing revealed key information in the case.
The 16-year-old girl has been missing since October 2, 2025, after leaving to make copies for her homework. Surveillance cameras captured the route of the student from the National Autonomous University of Mexico’s (UNAM) College of Sciences and Humanities (CCH).
The two detainees were formally charged with the crime of forced disappearance, aggravated by having committed it against an underage woman, in this case to the detriment of Kimberly Moya. She was last seen on the streets of the San Rafael Chamapa neighborhood in the municipality of Naucalpan.
After a hearing lasting 7 hours and 2 minutes, the judge determined there is sufficient evidence to continue investigating the accused, so both will remain in custody. However, no deadline was set for closing the investigation, as the defense of the accused asked the judge to stop intervening in the matter due to alleged impartiality in the process.
During the hearing, 24 videos and physical evidence were analyzed that presume the involvement of both subjects in Kimberly’s disappearance. Additionally, the statement of a witness was obtained who claims to have seen Gabriel Rafael “N” chase the minor and saw the passing of the sedan vehicle in which they may have deprived the minor of her liberty.
According to the State of Mexico Attorney General’s Office, at approximately 16:14 on October 2, the 16-year-old was walking on Filomeno Mata Street, at the corner with Diagonal Minas Street, in the San Rafael Chamapa neighborhood, Naucalpan, when Gabriel Rafael “N” ran towards her.
This subject then directed her to the location where a gray Volkswagen sedan vehicle, known as a Vocho, was parked, driven by Paulo Alberto “N”, who was waiting for her on Diagonal Minas Street.
Both subjects deprived the adolescent of her liberty, getting into the aforementioned vehicle with her and fleeing the scene with the purpose of hiding her whereabouts and denying information about her destination or location.
It was also established that during the minor’s journey from her home to the establishment where she made some prints and on her return route, the Vocho, presumably driven by Paulo Alberto “N”, appears repeatedly in the video recordings.
The investigation indicates that said vehicle continuously followed the victim, until positioning itself at a point on Minas Street, San Rafael Chamapa neighborhood, the place where the now-detained individuals allegedly deprived the adolescent of her liberty.
In a hearing on Tuesday, October 14, it was indicated that Gabriel Rafael “N” and Paulo Alberto “N” allegedly may have acted not only against the 16-year-old minor but against other young women.
Before ordering justified preventive prison, the judge issued a statement saying that in the investigation file there is evidence data linking these subjects to probable serial activity, that they may have established a modus operandi, and could have acted not only against Kimberly but against other young women.
The Control Judge, upon analyzing the evidence data provided by the Public Ministry Agent, determined that there are risks for the victim and for society, as well as possible acts of obstruction in the development of the investigation.
