Manu Bhaker’s Stellar Performance at Asian Shooting Championship, Wins Two Bronze Medals

India’s star shooter and two-time Olympic medalist Manu Bhaker delivered a brilliant performance at the Asian Shooting Championship 2025 on Tuesday, securing bronze medals in both the women’s 10m air pistol individual and team events. The event is being held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

Manu Bhaker secured third place in the women’s 10m air pistol final with a score of 219.7 points.

In this competition, the gold medal was won by China’s Ma Qianke with 243.2 points, while South Korea’s Yang Ji-in secured the silver medal with 241.6 points. Yang Ji-in is also the reigning Olympic champion.

This is Manu Bhaker’s first individual medal at the Asian Shooting Championship since the 2019 Doha edition, where she had won the gold medal.

Team Event Success

In the team event, the Indian trio of Manu Bhaker, Suryuchi Singh, and Palak Gulia scored a total of 1730 points in the qualification round and won the team bronze medal.

India finished just one point behind South Korea, which won the silver medal. Meanwhile, China not only won the gold with 1740 points but also set a new world record.

In the qualification round, Manu Bhaker scored 583-18x points, which included a perfect 100 in her final series. It was this performance that secured her third place and a spot in the final.

Suryuchi Singh finished 12th with 574-20x, and Palak Gulia finished 17th with 573-14x.

India’s Medal Tally

With Tuesday’s two medals, India’s medal tally has now reached three medals. On Monday, Anmol Jain, Saurabh Chaudhary, and Aditya Malra had won the silver medal in the men’s 10m air pistol team event.

At the Asian Shooting Championship 2025, 35 athletes are part of India’s senior team, competing for medals in 15 events.

In addition, 129 Indian junior shooters are also participating in this competition.
