Surat police have arrested the factory owner and his sons.
In Surat, Gujarat, diamonds worth 32 crore rupees were stolen from a diamond factory. The thieves took advantage of the holidays on the 15th, 16th, and 17th of August to carry out the theft. Following this, the police began investigating this high-profile theft case. As the investigation progressed, the police’s troubles also increased because the face of the thief that was emerging was shocking. This theft incident will surprise you too.
A gas cutter-cut safe. Broken CCTV cameras. Scattered items. And 32 crore worth of diamonds missing. Then, finally, an incredible anti-climax. This story of the theft is extremely surprising. On the morning of August 18th, when the Kapodara police in Surat received news of this theft incident, they were stunned. This was no ordinary theft. The thieves had raided a diamond factory, DK & Sons Diamond Company, and made off with precious diamonds worth a full 32 crore rupees. The factory owner and his entire family were in shock from this terrible incident that had happened to them, and the police were completely clueless.
Upon receiving news of the theft, Surat police’s entire team and forensic experts arrived at the crime scene. The story that DK & Sons Diamond Company owner Devendra Kumar Chaudhary told the police went something like this. Chaudhary stated that he had last visited his company on August 15th. At that time, he had placed both rough and polished diamonds in the company’s safe and gone home. Since there were holidays on the 16th and 17th of August as well, no one from his family or employees came to the company. But when he arrived at his factory on the morning of August 18th, he was stunned to see this theft incident.
The police investigated the case by collecting fingerprints at the crime scene and conducting all kinds of scientific investigations. But for the police, there were obstacles at every step. Firstly, all the CCTV cameras installed in the company had been broken by the thieves, and on top of that, the CCTV’s Digital Video Recorder (DVR) had also been taken away. So, in a way, all paths to reaching the thieves were closed. But as the investigation progressed, the police discovered several shocking things one by one.
First of all, the police noticed that the thieves had cut open the safe containing the diamonds with a gas cutter, but they had not used any force to enter from the company’s main gate or other doors. The locks on the doors had been opened with keys. That is, there were no signs of forced entry into the company building. So, was there someone who gave the thieves easy entry into the company for the theft? Only an insider or a betrayer could have done that. The fire alarms installed in the company were also missing.
Another surprising thing was that such valuable diamonds were kept in the company, but there was no security guard there. Upon investigation, it was found that the security guard had been removed from duty just a few days earlier, and no other guard had been appointed. This was also a surprising fact. But these were not the only two things puzzling the police; after this, the police discovered several other shocking coincidences one by one.
