This article reports on the opening of the 22nd Wuzhou Gem Festival, highlighting its theme and key attendees from government and industry.
On December 19th, the 22nd Wuzhou Gem Festival, themed “Wuzhou Gems: Intelligent Creation Leads Fashion Future,” opened in Wuzhou. Municipal Party Secretary Jiang Liansheng, Ye Zhibin, President of the China Gems & Jewelry Trade Association (GAC), and Liang Yiguang, Member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Guangxi International Expo Affairs Bureau, attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Jiang Liansheng, on behalf of the Municipal Party Committee, Municipal Government, and over 3.5 million people of all ethnic groups in Wuzhou, extended a warm welcome and heartfelt thanks to the leaders and guests attending the festival.
He added that the Municipal Party Committee and Government will seize the development opportunities presented by the AI era, continuously promote the quality and efficiency improvement of characteristic industries like tech gems and jewelry, encourage and support enterprises to strengthen product design, enhance product quality, and build well-known brands, striving to build a “Tech Gem Fashion Capital.”
Ye Zhibin stated in his speech that under the attention and correct leadership of the Wuzhou Municipal Party Committee and Government, Wuzhou’s gem industry is accelerating its transformation from a regional industrial cluster into a global value center.
He added that GAC will continue to play its role as a bridge and leader, fully supporting Wuzhou in cultivating leading gem enterprises and brands, and helping the Wuzhou gem industry accelerate its transition towards a new stage of sustainable, green, and high-quality development.
Liang Yiguang noted that as a co-organizer of the Wuzhou Gem Festival, the Guangxi International Expo Affairs Bureau has consistently strongly supported its organization and development over the years.
After the opening ceremony, attending leaders and guests visited the outstanding works of the China-ASEAN Gem Jewelry AI Design Competition and toured the 22nd Wuzhou Gem Festival – Jewelry and Famous & High-Quality Product Exhibition. They interacted with gem enterprise representatives to learn in detail about the AI applications, technological innovation achievements, and market layout of Wuzhou’s gem industry.
It is reported that this gem festival, jointly hosted by the Wuzhou Municipal People’s Government, GAC, and the Guangxi International Expo Affairs Bureau, featured the release of the Wuzhou Gem Design Large Model and two group standards for synthetic gemstones: “Quality Grading of Synthetic Cubic Zirconia” and “Quality Grading of Synthetic Moissanite.” A project signing ceremony, jewelry fashion shows, and a thematic dialogue on “AI Empowerment · ASEAN New Track” were also held. The festival involved 16 gem industry investment and construction projects with a total investment exceeding 2.3 billion yuan, including 8 projects signed on-site.
