Editor’s Note
This autumn, BVLGARI unveils a vibrant retrospective in Tokyo, showcasing nearly 350 pieces that trace its chromatic legacy. The exhibition promises a multisensory journey through gems, archives, and immersive art.

BVLGARI will hold the exhibition “BVLGARI Kaleidoscope: Color, Culture, Craftsmanship” at the National Art Center, Tokyo in Roppongi from September 17 to December 15. The exhibition will feature approximately 350 colorful jewelry pieces, unraveling the brand’s “color revolution” across three chapters. It will also display materials from the “BVLGARI Historical Archive,” immersive installations, and artworks.
The first chapter, “The Science of Color,” reveals the interaction of colors through jewelry. It introduces pieces never before exhibited outside Italy, including a “Bracelet” radiating an orange spectrum, a “Bangle” adorned with sapphires, rubies, and diamonds, and a set of necklace and earrings combining emeralds, amethysts, turquoise, and diamonds.
The second chapter, “The Symbolism of Color,” delves into the cultural and symbolic aspects of color, exploring how meaning and emotion can be conveyed through color choices. A highlight is a “Necklace” called “Seven Wonders,” set in platinum with diamonds and seven emeralds, which was also exhibited in Tokyo a decade ago.
The third chapter, “The Power of Light,” focuses on the role of light in color perception, observing how light interacts with reflective materials like silver and gold. It will display a “Convertible Sautoir-Bracelet” using many colored gemstones symbolic of BVLGARI’s colors and stories, and a “Serpenti” evening bag embodying goldsmithing craftsmanship.

As art pieces, the exhibition will feature Lara Favaretto’s installation “Level” composed of rotating car wash brushes, Mariko Mori’s “Onogoro Stone III” inspired by the Kojiki (Records of Ancient Matters), and Akiko Nakayama’s installation “Echo” projecting fluid forms throughout the space.
