GSI expands its global footprint with a new laboratory in Bangkok, Thailand, positioning itself at the heart of a key hub for colored gemstones.

Located in Bangkok, the laboratory is Gemological Science International’s 14th location worldwide.
New York—Gemological Science International announced last week that it has opened a lab in Bangkok, Thailand, a major hub for the cutting, polishing, and trading of colored gemstones.

The laboratory, GSI’s 14th worldwide, is located in the center of Bangkok’s gem and jewelry district.
GSI said the lab will provide comprehensive testing, analysis, and grading report services for colored gemstones, natural and lab-grown diamonds, finished jewelry, and pearls.
GSI Thailand also will offer screening for lab-grown diamonds and simulants.

The lab will be staffed by a “highly trained” team of local gemologists, GSI said.

GSI was founded in 2005 and is based in New York.
