Pinterest unveils its new report on the major trends for 2026, based on the searches, colors, aesthetics, and styles favored by the 600 million people who visit the platform each month. 67% of these dynamics are driven by Gen Z, and they are changing 4.4 times faster today than seven years ago. The report highlights three major themes stemming from these trends, including a genuine need for comfort, which becomes an emotional refuge for 55% of respondents. 42% of the surveyed panel mentions a quest for self and a desire for individual expression away from homogenization models. As an antidote to gloom, optimism is also in order, but anchored in the present – most consumers struggle to project themselves beyond two years.
In the world of fashion and beauty, Pinterest presents glamoratti, a chic and kitschy aesthetic made of wide-shouldered suits, thick belts (+35%), and loose-fitting suits (+90%). An eighties wardrobe that aligns with Loud Luxury, Mob Wife, and maximalist trends. In 2026, we can expect camo, globetrotter, and khaki looks, with a rise in “paleontologist aesthetic” (+35%) and “brown linen shirts” (+100%). Mix and Match is being abandoned in favor of a mismatched style where one no longer seeks to pair makeup with an outfit or create a beauty look within the codes of harmony. This is evidenced by “different colored nails on each hand” (+125%) and “avant-garde editorial makeup” (+270%).
Brooches are also returning to men’s wardrobes, with the “brooch aesthetic” (+110%) and “maximalist accessories” (+105%), as well as lace on nails (+215%), bandanas (+150%), and makeup (+120%). The croque-top highlights a romantic style, with “vampire cuts” (+40%), a “carmilla aesthetic” (+60%), and “gothic coffin-shaped nails” (+180%). The wild side is appreciated, from “dragonfly nail” (+145%) to “animal-inspired outfits,” while the sci-fi and intergalactic universe is in full swing, such as “alien-inspired makeup” (+140%). Poetic and literary fashion, characterized by ties, capes, and “satchel bags” (+85%), is another textile trend for 2026.
The first trend related to the field of perfumery in the Pinterest Predicts, fragrance blending, is favored by Gen Z and millennials, who compose their own essence. “Perfume combinations and associations” and “niche perfume collection” have generated search increases of +125% and +500%.
Associated with the lifestyle segment in the broad sense, the color glacier blue (+50%) is popular in fashion, beauty, and beverages. The retro world appeals to parents who hunt for “antique toys” (+225%) and “vintage children’s fashion” (+35%). Still in this childish vein, gummy mania is gaining more and more ground. Young people are searching for “frozen blushes” (+130%), “gummy candy aesthetics” (+100%), and “yokan” (+60%), a Japanese jellied pastry. More focused on cooking, cabbage is one of the major themes of 2026 with a multitude of recipes based on this healthy vegetable. In a completely different register, young people are no longer limited to handwriting and are embellishing their mail with colorful envelopes and pretty stamps (+105%).
In terms of decoration, the circus style is making its way into homes, with stripes, big tops, and clownish fantasy. The search for “circus interior” has increased by +130%. Another aesthetic, the African style fuses with the bohemian spirit. The themes “Afro bohemian interior decoration” and “Berber pattern” have seen respective increases of +220% and 210%. Unsurprisingly, Art Deco, which celebrated its centenary in 2025, is back in vogue. Old-fashioned sideboards (+100%), red marble bathrooms (+80%), and leather banquettes (+35%) are particularly in demand. The opera ambiance is also in the spotlight, with searches around masquerade ball decor, lyric theater, and draped ceilings for a wedding.
Finally, the travel sector is represented by mystical destinations and unknown lands such as “Scotland Highlands aesthetic” (+465%) and the “Arashiyama Bamboo Forest” (+50%). Adrenaline should also set the pace for vacations, with “car racing events” (+85%), “rafting” (+35%), and “adventure tourism” (+75%).
