A rare ten-carat blue diamond was exhibited this Tuesday at an unusual exhibition held in the capital of the United Arab Emirates. The public exhibition brings together a select collection of exceptionally colored diamonds, valued at over 100 million US dollars, and is organized in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Investment Office.

High-Value Collection

The exhibition, taking place at Sotheby’s, features a total of eight diamonds totaling over 700 carats. The blue diamond, originating from South Africa, is considered one of the most significant ever discovered and is expected to reach an auction price of 20 million dollars next May, highlighting its uniqueness and value.

Reflecting Regional Market Interest

The head of Sotheby’s jewelry department for North America, Europe, and the Middle East, Quig Bruning, expressed that the choice of Abu Dhabi as the exhibition venue reflects the growing interest in the diamond market in the Arabian Gulf region.

“We are very optimistic about the region,” affirmed Bruning, highlighting the presence of both traders and collectors interested in pieces of such importance and rarity.

The exhibition promises to be a prominent event for lovers of jewelry and high-value investment.
