Kering Foundation is launching a new research program with McGill University and the Sexual Violence Research Initiative to study the links between violence against women and children, marking a deeper commitment to addressing these interconnected issues.

The French luxury group unveils a new chapter in its social commitment. In partnership with McGill University in Montreal and the Sexual Violence Research Initiative (SVRI), the Kering Foundation is launching a research program to study the links between violence against women and violence against children.

At the heart of the initiative is supporting locally-led research and providing a better understanding of the contexts and needs of affected populations. Specifically, the Canadian university will train doctoral students who will work on various projects related to social policies and prevention programs in Canada and France. For its part, the SVRI will collect data on the correlations between violence against women and children by funding young researchers in low- and middle-income countries through grants. The initiative also includes workshops and awareness-raising actions to disseminate results, influence public policies, and encourage cross-sector cooperation.
Founded in 2008, the Kering Foundation focuses its actions on six countries and has already supported nearly one million women. With this program, the organization is taking a new step: linking research, fieldwork, and overall strategy to accelerate the eradication of intergenerational violence.

By adopting a scientific and international approach, Kering is strengthening its philanthropic action. This move is all the more strategic as luxury consumers are increasingly attentive to social responsibility.
