Event Overview

GEORGE TOWN, Aug 11 (Bernama) — The Penang Signature Gold, Gems & Jewellery Fair (PSG Fair) 2025, organised by Elite Expo Sdn Bhd with the Penang Goldsmith & Jewellers Association (PGJA), will be held from Aug 15 to 17 at the Setia SPICE Convention Centre here. This Southeast Asia’s largest gold fair is expected to attract over 5,000 trade buyers and delegates from around the world.

International Participation

Elite Expo chief executive officer Datuk Johnson Lim said more than 120 booths from over eight countries, including the United Kingdom, Turkey, China, Thailand, Singapore, India, Japan and Malaysia, will showcase gold, fine jewellery, gemstones, precious metals, machinery and packaging innovations.

“This event is exclusively for industry players, with participation from 80 to 85 per cent of Malaysian jewellers alongside major companies from Singapore, Dubai, Indonesia and Brunei,” he told a press conference today.

Also present were PGJA president Datuk Ivan Chee and Golden Novelty Sdn Bhd director Wu Jun Win.

Strategic Goals and Context

Lim said the event aims to reinforce Penang’s position as a global gold and jewellery hub while fostering regional business opportunities. This year’s edition will coincide with Malaysia hosting the ASEAN Summit, with top jewellers and associations from the region invited for conferences and networking sessions.

Key Programmes

Key programmes include the Market Development Grant (MDG) Seminar by MATRADE on the opening day and a gold price forecast on Aug 16 featuring speakers from the World Gold Council and Metal Focus.

“Malaysia is among Asia’s few tax-free jewellery markets, making it an international hub for the trade,” Lim added.
Fashion Show Debut

Meanwhile, Chee announced that the PSG Fair will debut Malaysia’s first dedicated jewellery fashion show, the Penang Jewellery Fashion Week (PJFW) during its 37th gala dinner on Aug 16.

“This concept will set a new benchmark in presenting our jewellery craftsmanship, blending haute couture with fine jewellery for industry leaders, buyers and international guests,” he said.
