This article highlights a recent collaboration between De Beers Group and Lane Crawford, celebrating natural diamonds through a curated collection of festive gifts.

Recently, De Beers Group, the world’s leading diamond company, joined forces with Lane Crawford, Asia’s premier luxury retailer, to celebrate the extraordinary beauty and authenticity of natural diamonds. United by a steadfast commitment to exceptional craftsmanship, innovation, and responsible sourcing, they presented a curated collection of exquisite natural diamond gifts, embodying the warmth of the festive season.
‘The Eternal Legacy: A Gift of Natural Diamonds’ series, positioned as the ultimate destination for master-level natural diamond jewelry in Hong Kong, has elegantly launched at Lane Crawford’s flagship store in the IFC Mall. A series of captivating events has been rolled out, creating a buzz for the holiday season. The opening gathered numerous VIP guests, media from Mainland China and Hong Kong, and fashion influencers. Special guests for the De Beers Natural Diamond Workshop—actress Charmaine Sheh and fashion icon Hilary Tsui—were also present to appreciate Lane Crawford’s meticulously selected, stunning natural diamond creations, immersing themselves in the emotional depth and design ingenuity behind each piece.

The first phase of this special series features a curation of contemporary high jewelry brands, each interpreting a relentless pursuit of creativity and excellence with unique design philosophies. Participating brands include State Property, YEPREM, Claudia Ma Fine Jewellery, Mio Harutaka, and KORLOFF.
The exclusive event also featured workshops and interactive art experiences led by experts including Jodine Bolden, Director of Diamond Education, and Samantha Sibley, R&D Scientist, from the De Beers Institute of Diamonds; GIA Graduate Gemologist, veteran media personality, designer, and fashion influencer Li Pengbo; renowned master of geomancy and feng shui science, Dr. Chan Tsz Choi; and London-based multidisciplinary artist Annette Fernando. They guided guests in exploring the extraordinary world of natural diamonds from diverse perspectives.
In the Natural Diamond Workshop, guests gained hands-on experience in rough diamond sorting, polished diamond grading, and learned how to distinguish natural diamonds from laboratory-grown diamonds. Special guests Charmaine Sheh and Hilary Tsui also experienced the allure of natural diamonds firsthand under the guidance of De Beers Institute of Diamonds mentors.
Three precious natural diamond rough stones sourced by De Beers Group were specially displayed: one weighing approximately 297 carats, a 22-carat stone embedded in kimberlite rock, and an extremely rare 0.329-carat rough named the “Beating Heart.” This last stone features a smaller diamond freely moving inside, creating a unique “diamond within a diamond” structure, vividly illustrating the extraordinary geological miracle of natural diamond formation. This remarkable rough was professionally analyzed by the De Beers Institute of Diamonds, with its journey from origin fully traced and recorded on the Tracr blockchain platform. Participants in the workshop received a certification from the De Beers Institute of Diamonds.

Beyond the professional insights from the De Beers Institute of Diamonds, London-based multidisciplinary artist Annette Fernando presented her artwork “The Multi-Faceted Self,” inspired by the transformative journey of natural diamonds. Through a philosophical coloring workshop, she invited participants to use the metaphor of a diamond’s transformation to explore personal growth and inner resilience.
