The Indian Rupee is moving ahead of the Dollar in today’s currency ring. The main reasons behind this strength could be a weak Dollar and falling crude oil prices. According to information from market experts, further improvement in the Rupee may be seen in the coming days. However, just a day earlier, the Rupee had closed with a sharp decline.
Leaving behind the previous day’s decline, the Rupee gained two paise at the start of Wednesday’s trading session, reaching a price of 89.20 Rupees per Dollar. According to forex traders, foreign investors have shown confidence in the Indian market today.
The impact of this is being seen on the Rupee’s prices. Also, today in the interbank foreign exchange market, the Rupee opened at 89.24 per Dollar, though it later slipped to 89.26. The Rupee touched the figure of 89.20 per Dollar in the initial phase while recovering. On Tuesday, the Rupee had closed down by 6 paise at 89.20 per Dollar.
A powerful rally is being witnessed in the Indian stock market on Wednesday’s trading day. At 12:40 PM, the BSE Sensex jumped 884 points to trade at 85,471 points. Meanwhile, the NSE Nifty 50 is also seeing a splendid surge of 278 points. The Nifty 50 is trading at the 26,163 level.
Amid the rising prices of the Rupee, the Dollar Index, which measures the strength of the Dollar against six major world currencies, slipped 0.02 percent to 99.56.
