Jaipur: The four-day Jaipur Jewellery Show began in the capital on Friday, where renowned jewellers from across the country will display their jewellery. This year, the Jaipur Jewellery Show is being held at the Novotel Jaipur Convention Centre in Sitapura with the theme ‘Coloured Gemstones’.
Top gemstone traders will showcase their new designs and exquisite craftsmanship. Following the recent increase in U.S. tariffs, it was anticipated that the jewellery and gemstone trade would be significantly impacted. A large quantity of jewellery and gemstones are exported from Jaipur, but businessmen participating in this show say that no significant effect of the tariffs has been observed in the market.
Jewellery businessman Pawan Agrawal says that initially, the impact of the tariffs was visible, but gradually the domestic market has now become ready. The demand for jewellery in the local market is continuously increasing. Businessman Rambabu Natani says that along with silver, gold prices are also rising continuously, but people’s interest is now shifting towards silver jewellery. Rambabu has come to the Jaipur Jewellery Show to exhibit silver jewellery and various products made from it. He believes that no significant impact of the tariffs has been seen in the market. A separate domestic market has been prepared.
Jaipur Jewellery Show Vice Chairman Dinesh Khatoria informed that after a small start with 67 booths, the show has touched new heights. This time in JJS-2025, we will have 1227 booths. In its 23-year journey, JJS has highlighted a special gem or theme every year. This year our main theme-Coloured Gemstones-‘Shaping Dreams in Every Colour’. Under this, we are specifically promoting various coloured gemstones. This includes 624 gold jewellery, 314 loose gemstones, 74 silver jewellery, and 74 allied machinery booths.
