This article highlights Pforzheim’s enduring role in the global jewelry industry, as showcased at the prestigious Vicenzaoro fair. The “Gold City” continues to be a key player, with its companies actively participating in this premier international event.

Twice a year, Vicenza, a charming city in northern Italy, becomes the epicenter of the international jewelry world. Vicenzaoro, one of Europe’s largest jewelry fairs, attracts designers, traders, and jewelry enthusiasts from all over the world. Pforzheim, the historic “Gold City,” is also represented there by numerous companies.

WirtschaftsKRAFT was on-site and took the opportunity to speak with Pforzheim jewelry firms. The focus was on how they represent Pforzheim internationally and what challenges and opportunities they encounter.
With its upcoming 100th company anniversary in 2027, Breuning looks back proudly on a long history of success.

Breuning has once again won the German Design Award, this time for the “Wave Ring.” This highlight combines two gold tones in an elegant color gradient and is set with diamonds – a perfect example of the symbiosis of design and craftsmanship.
In the wedding ring industry, Breuning stands out because the rings are not cast but turned.
The Rauschmayer Group has consistently strengthened Pforzheim as a production location, even though many businesses belong to the past.
Particularly impressive was the engagement ring configurator, which allows customers to personalize their dream ring from 50 different ring shanks and magnetic stones.

With over 160 years of company history, Dillenius proudly carries the name of Pforzheim into the world. For Udo Beck, it is an honor to hold high the “flags of the Gold City” at Vicenzaoro.
While Dillenius does not follow trends, the company relies on durable classics in tool-bound standard jewelry.
The traditional company, which looks back on 150 years, has specialized in precision techniques such as stamping, pressing, and drawing.
As trends, he cites filigree medallions, sculptural designs, and colorful stones. Insect motifs, which transform jewelry pieces into small works of art, are particularly striking.

The conversations at Vicenzaoro made one thing clear: Pforzheim will continue to stand as a synonym for quality, tradition, and innovation in the jewelry world. Whether through award-winning designs, technical precision, or personalized experiences – the “Gold City” remains a shining star on the international jewelry market.
The outlook for 2025 is also positive from the perspective of the Gold City Pforzheim.
