Lotte Department Store has opened South Korea’s first boutique for Swiss luxury watchmaker Jacob & Co., reinforcing its strategy to dominate the high-end watch segment. This move highlights the retailer’s focus on securing exclusive brand partnerships to attract affluent consumers.

Lotte Department Store has opened the first-ever boutique in Korea for the Swiss high-end watch brand ‘Jacob & Co.’, solidifying its unique position in the luxury watch market.
Lotte Department Store announced on the 25th that it has opened the first Jacob & Co. boutique in Korea on the 2nd floor of Avenue L at its main store.
According to Lotte Department Store on the 26th, this new store is the second boutique in Korea following the largest boutique in Asia located on Dosan-daero in Gangnam, and the first store opened by a domestic distributor. To commemorate this opening, Lotte Department Store has prepared Jacob & Co.’s popular products, limited-edition watches, and jewelry, which are the only ones available in Korea, to further strengthen its position in the luxury watch market and provide customers with a differentiated experience.
Jacob & Co. is renowned as a brand that transcends the limits of traditional watchmaking with its unique technological prowess and artistry. Notably, the ‘Astronomia’, where all components of the watch move like celestial orbits, is considered a masterpiece combining technology that counteracts gravity with aesthetics.
The brand has also proven the essence of watchmaking by creating timepieces that defy convention, such as the ‘Bugatti Tourbillon’, a collaboration with the French supercar brand Bugatti that faithfully reproduces a supercar engine, and the ‘Casino Tourbillon’, which features a roulette wheel on the watch dial reminiscent of a casino.
The new main store boutique will showcase a variety of Jacob & Co.’s representative collections. These include the ‘Dual Time Zone’, which features a world map design and displays two independent time zones on a single watch; the women’s collection ‘Fleur de Jardin’ adorned with brilliant flowers; and the ‘Brilliant’ collection, which maximizes elegance with hundreds of densely set diamonds. Alongside these diverse timepieces, the store also offers a fine jewelry line that highlights artistic sensibility, broadening the range of choices.
Customers can also find limited-edition jewelry created in collaboration with famous artists. Notably, the limited-edition jewelry collection ‘Jacob & Co. x PEACEMINUSONE’, a collaboration with global K-POP artist G-DRAGON, is also available for sale. This collection consists of two types: the Yellow Sapphire Edition and the Yellow Diamond Pavé Edition. It reinterprets G-DRAGON’s signature daisy motif and is expected to garner significant interest from customers due to its high collectible value. Some Jacob & Co. products operate on a ‘Made-to-Order’ system and can also be customized.
Meanwhile, Lotte Department Store is significantly strengthening not only its luxury watch offerings but also its jewelry product lineup, expanding its influence in the premium market. In particular, on the first floor of the main store, it opened ‘Van Cleef & Arpels’ and ‘GRAFF’ in March, and in July, it opened ‘Repossi’, a French high jewelry brand famous for its geometric designs, solidifying its status as a ‘high jewelry mecca’.
