Program Launch and Objectives

The University of Seoul (President Won Yong-geol) and the Jongno-gu Office will conduct the “K-Jewelry AI Practical Innovation Education” program at the Future Emotion Education Center from September 16 for a period of two months. This initiative aims to strengthen the competitiveness of the jewelry sector, a specialized industry in Jongno-gu.

This program was planned within the university-industry-research institute cooperation framework supported by the Seoul RISE project (Regional Innovation System & Education). It targets the digital transformation (DX) and enhancement of innovation capabilities in the jewelry industry to keep pace with the rapidly changing era of artificial intelligence.

Participants and Expected Outcomes

Thirty young CEOs and practitioners from the jewelry industry, selected through a rigorous screening process, will participate in this course. Participants will intensively learn AI marketing strategies and practical skills that can be immediately applied to jewelry design and manufacturing sites. They are expected to grow into next-generation leaders who will pioneer high-value creation in the global competitive environment.

Curriculum Structure

The curriculum consists of: AI-based consumer-customized marketing, image/video generation and design utilization, market trend prediction through big data analysis, support for smart manufacturing and automation, and practical project-based training. Notably, the practice and case-centered curriculum enhances applicability in the field.

“The jewelry industry is a deep-rooted traditional industry in Jongno-gu and simultaneously a field with great potential for entering the global market,” said Professor Song Oh-seong (Director of the Emotional Industry ICC Center) at the University of Seoul. “Through this education, we expect young managers to lead the global jewelry market using cutting-edge technology as their weapon.”

Future Plans

The University of Seoul plans to continue contributing to the cultivation of AI-convergence talent for the jewelry industry and enhancing regional industrial competitiveness as a hub for university-industry-research cooperation in Seoul’s regional innovation industries.
