This article outlines a new government-funded initiative to train specialists in 3D printing, a technology seen as vital for the future of manufacturing. The program aims to build a skilled workforce to support this growing industry.

The ‘2025 3D Printing Specialist Training Program,’ organized by the Ministry of Science and ICT and the National IT Industry Promotion Agency (NIPA), will be conducted with full government funding.
This training is being carried out to foster the development of the 3D printing industry, a core technology for the paradigm shift in future manufacturing. The program targets prospective talent related to 3D printing, including job seekers, prospective entrepreneurs, and corporate employees, and is designed with the goal of growing the 3D printing industry and creating new markets. The training will be operated targeting various industrial sectors such as full-cycle plastics, full-cycle metals, specialized software (SW), medical devices, jewelry, and aerospace.
The plastics and metals sections are subdivided into 3D modeling, 3D printing, and post-processing. Among these, the plastics course is open for application until October 24th, with the 2nd session starting on October 13th and the 3rd session on October 27th. The metals sector is open for application until September 19th. The 2nd session starts on July 28th, and the 3rd session on September 15th.
The specialized SW section covers software used in the 3D printing industry field. It is divided into seven curricula: ZBrush, SolidWorks, Rhinoceros, Magics, Mimics, 3-Matic, and 3D Scanning/Reverse Engineering. The five-day training journey begins on July 14th.
Following this, industry-specific application technology training programs for fields such as aerospace, medical devices, and jewelry will also be conducted. Aerospace starts on August 18th, medical devices on August 18th, and jewelry on October 13th. All are 25-day courses that can be taken independently.
Upon completion of the training, a certificate issued by NIPA will be awarded. Additionally, benefits such as awards for outstanding students, competitions, and award ceremonies are planned.
Meanwhile, detailed information about the training can be found on the 3D Printing Innovation Growth Center website, and applications for participation can be made through the training application section of the website.
