This article describes a limited-time art cafe event in Tokyo, blending coffee culture with interactive cherry blossom-themed art. The collaboration aims to use the Nescafé brand to foster moments of personal discovery and positivity.

Nestlé Japan is hosting a limited-time event, “Nescafe: Let’s All Bloom a Full Cherry Blossom Art Cafe,” in collaboration with artist Runa Kuranaka at “Nescafe Harajuku” (Jingumae, Shibuya Ward) until February 28. The event aims to provide an opportunity for people to discover what they love and find a positive outlook through Nescafe.
At a media preview on February 6, Satoshi Ebihara, Senior Brand Manager of the Standard Beverage Unit, Out-of-Home Business Department, Beverage Business Division, explained the event’s purpose:
The event offers limited-edition spring-themed menus “Sakura Latte” and “Sakura Parfait” supervised by Kuranaka, displays her art pieces including works from her latest solo exhibition, and features a participatory cherry blossom art installation. Visitors contribute by placing cherry blossom petals on a base canvas painted by Kuranaka, gradually completing a full-bloom cherry blossom artwork.
The completed artwork will be donated to a nursing care facility. Additionally, a sealed canister “Nescafe Keepo,” featuring a design inspired by the finished art, will go on sale in late March.
The event is also an activity aimed at building a circular economy to reduce waste. Upcycled materials are used for the art experience materials (base canvases, stickers) and店内装飾 (fabrics, objets d’art), expressing a sustainable worldview throughout the store space.
Ebihara cited the high affinity between the Nescafe brand and Kuranaka, whose works utilize natural materials like sea sand and used crayons to bring joy to people in nursing and medical facilities.
The “Make your world” concept highlights that Nescafe uses coffee sourced in line with Nestlé’s responsible sourcing standards. In Japan, Nescafe uses 100% coffee beans sourced with consideration for producers and the environment, conveying that choosing Nescafe can be a catalyst for positive change for oneself, one’s surroundings, and the global environment.
