Centralization of Expertise and Production Capacity

With the opening of the world’s largest jewelry manufactory in Valenza (Piedmont), Bulgari makes a powerful statement about its long-term growth strategy. The brand, part of the LVMH group, not only strengthens its industrial capabilities but also secures an increasingly larger part of its value chain in-house – a crucial factor for quality, supply security, and margin stability.
The new production center in Valenza, spanning 33,000 square meters, is not only the world’s largest manufactory for a single jewelry brand but also an expression of a clear strategy: Bulgari unites all competencies there – from design and manufacturing to quality control – under one roof. Approximately 6 to 7 million individual components are produced annually, with tens of thousands of jewelry pieces created each month. This not only creates efficiency gains for the company but also over 500 new jobs by 2029.

Focus on Training and Talent Acquisition

By establishing two of its own training facilities, Bulgari is strategically investing in the future of the goldsmithing craft. The “Bvlgari Academy” and the newly founded “Scuola Bvlgari” – a publicly accessible school located within the production site – offer training positions for up to 150 young talents annually. For the industry, this is a valuable contribution to securing skilled professionals in an increasingly technology-driven market.
The training facilities cover 1,000 square meters at the new Bulgari site.

State-of-the-Art Technologies and Sustainability as Guiding Principles

The entire facility is powered 100 percent by renewable energy – part of which is generated on-site using solar panels and geothermal energy. This is complemented by technologies such as CNC machines, 3D printing, and an interactive idea program for material savings. This positions Bulgari as a pioneer not only in design but also in sustainability and digital manufacturing.

Valenza as the Hub for “Everyday Luxury”

Primarily, so-called everyday luxury is produced in Valenza – jewelry pieces made from precious metals with diamond pavé, sapphires, rubies, or hard stones in the price range of 2,000 to approximately 90,000 euros. Haute Joaillerie remains in Rome. The goal is to reintegrate outsourced processes, such as gemstone setting, back into the brand – a measure that strengthens both control over quality and exclusivity.
The aim is to unite all professions of the jewelry industry at one location.

Watch Strategy Underlines Brand Ambition

Parallel to its jewelry production, Bulgari is also strengthening its watch division. The recently renovated manufactory in Saignelégier, Switzerland, consolidates all competencies related to case and dial manufacturing. Integrated workshops for Métiers d’Art increase creative freedom. The goal is to serve the demand for exceptional models with elaborate finishing – an area that, according to LVMH, will continue to gain importance.
