This article details the collaboration between ByteDance’s Volcano Engine and Chow Tai Fook Jewelry to integrate AI into retail. Their joint AI Agent platform and “AI Ah Fu Family” initiative aim to enhance operational efficiency in the jewelry sector.
On December 25, ByteDance’s Volcano Engine disclosed the progress of its collaboration with Chow Tai Fook Jewelry. The two parties are promoting the deep integration of AI technology into the jewelry retail sector to enhance industry operational efficiency by jointly building an AI Agent platform and creating the “AI Ah Fu Intelligent Agent Family”.
It is reported that since its launch at the end of 2024, this AI platform has deployed 351 intelligent agent applications, covering over 24,000 Chow Tai Fook employees, with cumulative dialogue interactions exceeding one million times. Among them, the general-purpose intelligent agent “Ah Fu” serves as an enterprise-level intelligent assistant. It is not only proficient in professional jewelry knowledge but also provides practical services such as knowledge Q&A, copywriting creation, multilingual translation, and image/video generation.
To address the common concern in online jewelry shopping where “the picture looks good, but the wearing effect is unknown,” the two parties jointly launched an AR virtual try-on service. Consumers can quickly preview the wearing effect by selecting their favorite styles on their mobile phones.
With the expansion of overseas e-commerce business, Chow Tai Fook has also introduced an AI customer-facing smart shopping assistant to provide standardized, localized, and personalized services for e-commerce channels in multiple countries worldwide. This assistant integrates capabilities such as intelligent Q&A, recommendation, and customer service. By combining user consumption behavior, tags, and semantic analysis, it achieves precise multilingual shopping guidance, adapting to the consumption needs of different regions.
