This article profiles a mayoral candidate’s policy platform centered on economic revitalization and aerospace development as dual engines for urban transformation.

“We will revive the city through finance and open the future through aerospace.”
Jinju mayoral candidate Han Kyung-ho (former Director General of Social Budget at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, former Head of the Future Force Planning Bureau at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration) held a book launch event at the Jinju National University of Education auditorium at 2 PM on the 7th, unveiling his vision for Jinju’s future.
On this day, the prospective candidate presented the problems with Jinju City’s fiscal structure and a city growth strategy centered on the aerospace industry through his new book ‘Jinju’s Future, From Finance to Space’.
He further stated, “Aerospace is a key industry that can allow Jinju to leap forward again. With prepared strategy and execution, it can grow into a world-class city.”
Having been responsible for economic and budget policies for over 20 years at the Ministry of Economy and Finance and having overseen the development of defense satellites and the KF-21 fighter jet at the Defense Acquisition Program Administration, he said, “I will pour all my experience of being responsible for both finance and aerospace on the ground into Jinju.”
Meanwhile, the book launch event was attended in person by former Minister of Land, Infrastructure and Transport Kang Ho-in, former Fair Trade Commission Chairman Noh Dae-rae, and People Power Party lawmaker Park Soo-min, who is also a friend from their time at the Ministry of Economy and Finance, who gave congratulatory speeches.
