The world-renowned luxury watchmaker ‘Jacob & Co.’ has unveiled a unique watch that not only tells time but also narrates an entire story. Named the ‘Opera Vantara Green Camo’, this watch is dedicated to Anant Ambani, the younger son of Reliance Industries Chairman Mukesh Ambani.
The discussion around this watch revolves more around its construction than its price. It is not merely a luxury item but a tribute to Anant Ambani’s dream project ‘Vantara’. Vantara is the wildlife rescue center located in Gujarat, initiated by Anant Ambani for the service and conservation of voiceless animals.
The design of this watch will leave you amazed. Right in the center of the watch’s dial is a hand-painted 3D figurine of Anant Ambani. He is depicted wearing a blue floral shirt, considered his signature style. But that’s not all. Surrounding this small figurine are miniature sculptures of the king of the jungle, the lion, and the Bengal tiger.
The craftsmanship on the watch is so intricate that it feels no less than a work of art. Jacob & Co. is famous worldwide for this very ‘storytelling’ artistry.
Jacob & Co. has always been known for its ‘maximalist’, i.e., grand and hefty designs. The same is reflected in this watch. A green ‘camouflage’ pattern has been created on the watch’s case and dial, perfectly representing the jungle theme.
Approximately 400 precious gemstones were used to create this pattern. According to reports, stones weighing around 21.98 carats are set in it. The watch’s frame is made of white gold, and to make it even more regal, it is fitted with an alligator leather strap. This watch is a remarkable fusion of ‘fine jewelry’ and haute horology.
The company has not officially disclosed its price, but several media reports and experts believe the watch is worth approximately $1.5 million, or about ₹13.7 crore. It was launched on January 21, 2026. This is not the first time Jacob & Co. has created a special watch related to India or the Ambani family. Previously, the company also created a special ‘Ram Janmabhoomi’ edition watch, which was adorned on the wrists of stars like Anant Ambani and Abhishek Bachchan.
