This unusual theft, captured on camera, serves as a reminder that crime can come from the most unexpected places—even the sky. While the incident may seem almost comical, it highlights the need for vigilance in all circumstances.

A bizarre incident has been reported from Rajasthan where a pigeon stole a gold chain worth approximately 1 lakh rupees (around $1,200). The unusual theft, captured on camera, left onlookers and the victim in a state of shock.

The incident occurred when a woman was wearing her gold chain outdoors. A pigeon, seemingly attracted by the shiny object, swooped down, grabbed the chain in its beak, and flew away before anyone could react. The entire sequence was quick and left the woman and bystanders stunned.

The video of the incident has gone viral on social media, with users dubbing the pigeon a ‘winged thief’. Many expressed disbelief at the audacity and precision of the bird’s action. Local authorities were informed, but recovering the chain from the pigeon is considered highly unlikely.

While rare, this is not the first time birds have been involved in stealing shiny objects. Crows and magpies are known for their attraction to glittering items, but a pigeon committing such a high-value theft is particularly unusual.
